Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Ciaone. Please read them: they explain what Ciaone does, what you may not do, how payments work and what happens if something goes wrong.

If you use Ciaone as a consumer, you keep every right consumer law gives you where you live; nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
What Ciaone does
Ciaone uses artificial intelligence to draft sarcastic breakup messages, and replies to what the other person answers, from the details you type. It is a satirical entertainment service.
You decide whether to send a message, to whom and how. You are responsible for anything you send; Ciaone never sends messages for you.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract. Ciaone is for personal, non-commercial use.
Rules
Do not use Ciaone to threaten, harass, stalk, blackmail or hurt anyone, to attack people for who they are, to share anyone's surname, contact details, address or other identifying details, for anything involving minors, or to break the law.
Do not try to get around the filter, limits or payments, copy or resell the service or its messages in bulk, or disrupt it with automated requests.
If these rules are broken, we may refuse requests, remove content and suspend or close access.
AI-written messages
Messages are generated automatically. They are harsh and sarcastic on purpose, and they can also be wrong, repetitive, similar to messages written for other people or unsuitable for your situation. Read every message before you send it.
Messages are not advice. We do not promise any result, including how the other person reacts.
Your messages and our brand
You may use the messages Ciaone writes for you as you like for personal purposes. Ciaone, its name, logo, design and software belong to us; you may not copy them.
The weekly page
If you submit a message, you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to publish it on the weekly page, with the name replaced by an initial. Submissions are picked at random; submitting does not guarantee publication.
We may shorten, further anonymise, refuse or remove any submission at any time. You can withdraw it with Delete my data or by emailing us. Examples written by Claude are labelled as Ciaone examples.
Plans and prices
Prices are in euros, include VAT and are confirmed before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
The Weekly pass gives unlimited use for 7 days and does not renew. The Starter pack gives 3 breakups and 1 reply coach answer, which do not expire. All tones unlocks every paid tone permanently but adds no breakups. Monthly and Yearly give unlimited use and renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. Each breakup includes up to 5 drafts.
Purchases stay with the device where you made them, or with your account if you sign in. If you never sign in and clear your browser data, we cannot restore them.
Tips (Buy us a spritz) are voluntary one-time payments of the amount you choose. They unlock nothing and are not refundable, except where the law requires it or you tipped by mistake: then email us.
Subscriptions and cancelling
You can cancel a Monthly or Yearly plan at any time under Account, Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.
Right of withdrawal
For online purchases you normally have 14 days to withdraw. Ciaone supplies digital content and services immediately: at checkout you ask us to start right away and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once supply has begun (Articles 52 and 59 of the Italian Consumer Code).
For Monthly and Yearly plans you can still withdraw within 14 days of the first payment by emailing us: we refund the price minus the share for the days you already used.
None of this affects your rights if something is faulty.
If something goes wrong
If a message fails to generate, the breakup you used is given back automatically.
As a consumer you have a legal guarantee that Ciaone works as described (Articles 135-octies and following of the Italian Consumer Code). If it doesn't, email us: we will fix it or, if we can't, reduce the price or refund you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Ciaone available but cannot guarantee it will always be online or error-free. We may change or improve features; if a change takes away something you paid for, you can cancel and get a proportional refund.
Ending your use
You can stop using Ciaone at any time and erase your data with Delete my data; cancel active subscriptions first.
We may suspend or close access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we close access without a breach on your part, we refund any unused prepaid period.
Liability
We are not responsible for what you choose to send or for how the other person reacts.
As far as the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. This limit does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to your rights as a consumer.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts where you live.
Please contact us first: most problems are solved faster by email. You can also use an alternative dispute resolution body recognised in your country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell signed-in users and subscribers about important changes before they apply; if you disagree, you can cancel.
